Organizational Profile of The Malian Foundation

 

 

Simon Malian

Executive Director

Simon is well known for his innovative entrepreneurial flair and his interest in using his talents for the benefit of others. Simon has an extensive professional background in the application of technology to organizations and began his career as a management consultant within IBM Business Consulting Services. He later joined Westpac Institutional Bank specializing in the technology used to support foreign currency trading. After a period of time he was seconded to join a Westpac subsidiary, BT Financial Group, as a business analyst focusing on the technology used to administer life insurance policies. He was then invited to return to Westpac as an advisor to the Group Chief Information Officer. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Information Technology awarded with Distinction from the University of Technology, Sydney.

 

 

Stephanie Douglass

Director of People & Performance

Stephanie is a senior human resources executive for an international public relations company based in the USA. She has extensive experience in a wide range of human resources subjects including employee relations, staff and succession planning, compensation, performance management, recruiting, relocation, training and development. She has volunteered with many of non-profit organizations both in her community and internationally. She holds a B.A. and M.A. in Humanities from San Francisco State University.
 

 

Dr. Gwyn McClellan

Director of Communications

Gwyn has over twenty years management experience in both for-profit and non-profit environments. Her areas of expertise include public relations, fundraising and development, general operations and financial management. Her previous roles include being Public Relations manager for the National Alliance of Black School Educators, Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Kansas and President of WIMAC. Her qualifications include a Bachelor and Master of Arts majoring in speech pathology and a minor in special education from the University of Kansas. She also holds a Ph.D. majoring in education administration and minoring in higher education administration from Witchita State University.

 

 

Patsy Wilcher

Director of the Consulting Services Program

Patsy comes to us with over twelve years non-profit management experience. She has volunteered for agencies such as The American Diabetes Association where she served as chairman in her area and helped to raise over $25,000 for diabetes research and education. She served on the Board of Directors for Hugs for Homeless Animals where she helped coordinate and collect over 30,000 lbs. of food for homeless animals affected by hurricane Katrina. She currently has an undergraduate degree in Justice Studies and is currently working towards her Masters Degree at Fort Hayes State University in Fort Hayes, Kansas where she is majoring in Justice Administration with a minor in Forensic Psychology. She is also working to complete an additional B.S. in Nursing as well. Volunteering is a way of life and Patsy most recently served as Governor for the State of Georgia's Circle K International, a worldwide collegiate organization dedicated to promoting leadership and service in college students. She was recently nominated and inducted into the David A. Kelly Hall of Fame for her work with Circle K and her contributions to children. She also was named as a distinguished Governor by Circle K International for her work in leading the state to countless hours of service to others and her invaluable leadership. Patsy loves to travel, read, kayak and hike to name just a few. She is excited to be a part of the Malian Foundation.
